The Twill Bucket Hat, part of the label’s collaboration with Ryo Koizumi, is inspired by the humble bucket hat’s angling roots. It’s made from a high density cotton twill that is resistant to wrinkles and tears, and features a bungee cord brim lining and leather straps that hang from each side that can be tied as a chin strap.
Sillage was founded just three years ago in 2019, by then 24 year-old Nicolas Yuthanan Chalmeau, a French citizen with Thai heritage who had recently moved to Tokyo after feeling its pull on a trip two years prior. Started with very little investment, Sillage has broken the rules of the fashion industry since day one. At Double Double, we’re proud to be one of the first boutiques in Australia or New Zealand to stock Sillage. This instalment from the label includes an updated version of the piece that started it all—the Hakama pant—alongside other pants, shorts, jackets, and shirting, all employing Sillage’s unique approach to structuring oversized silhouettes.
