It is often the case that the most forward-thinking designs in fashion—as in other art forms—are not completely novel, but pull and push past shapes, styles, and apparatuses in the service of something at once familiar and groundbreaking. Such is the approach of sought-after British designer Kim Jones. The Dior menswear designer continues a run of coveted sportswear collaborations, this time with Converse. With this new collaboration, a line of elevated sportswear-inspired apparel pieces accompanies the conceptually rich yet simple reimagining of the Chuck Taylor 70, in black and white.
